Stroke Clinics

Description

Swim Tank clinics are designed for children who have an established freestyle and back stroke who was to improve their form and technique.

Instructors will offer directions and corrections both in and out of the water. They will demonstrate and break down every aspect of the strokes in order to facilitate your child’s understanding and performance. Their feedback, praise, and motivation will encourage your child throughout their experience.

This level will focus on advancing your child’s freestyle and backstroke. In we will introduce the Elementary Backstroke and early Breaststroke skills to your child. Based on their current badge level and progression the more advanced students will focus on their full Breaststroke and Butterfly strokes.

Pricing
  • $390 per session for a 45 minute class
  • Session pricing is based on 10 classes
  • Pricing will vary each session based on the number of holiday closures
  • There is a one time yearly $50 insurance/ registration fee per child

Achievement Levels

These are the badges your child will earn in this level

Stingray Level

Student must be able to consistently demonstrate the following skills
  • 40 to 50 yards (2 lengths of pool) of freestyle
    • Rhythmic breathing pattern with no rotation stalling
    • No “digging” or double pulling
    • Correct body rotation
    • Consistent flutter kicking
  • 40 to 50 yards (2 lengths of pool) of backstroke
    • Surface flutter kick
    • Correct arm rotation with palms facing out for water entry & pull
  • 20 to 25 yards (1 length of pool) of elementary backstroke

Frog Level

Student must be able to consistently demonstrate the following skills
  • 40 to 50 yards (2 lengths of pool) of freestyle
    • Rhythmic breathing pattern with no rotation stallingNo “digging” or double pulling
    • Correct body rotation
    • Consistent flutter kicking
  • 40 to 50 yards (2 lengths of pool) of backstroke
    • Surface flutter kick
    • Correct arm rotation with palms facing out for water entry & pull
  • 20 to 25 yards (1 length of pool) of breaststroke kick
  • Dolphin Level

    Student must be able to consistently demonstrate the following skills
    • 80 to 100 yards (4 lengths of pool) of freestyle
    • Must now have correct racing arms
    • 80 to 100 yards (4 lengths of pool) of backstroke
      • Must now have correct racing arms
    • 40 to 50 yards (2 lengths of pool) of breaststroke kick
      • Kick must be correct and strong
    • 20 to 25 yards (1 length of pool) of butterfly kick
      • Kick does not have to be perfect, just the concept

    Whale Level

    Student must be able to consistently demonstrate the following skills
    • 80 to 100 yards (4 lengths of pool) of freestyle
      • Must now have correct racing arms
    • 80 to 100 yards (4 lengths of pool) of backstroke
      • Must now have correct racing arms
    • 20 to 25 yards (1 length of pool) of full breaststroke
      • Kick, arms, & timing must all be correct
    • 20 to 25 yards (1 length of pool) of butterfly kick
      • Kick must be correct and strong

    Shark Level

    Student must be able to consistently demonstrate the following skills
    • 80 to 100 yards (4 lengths of pool) of freestyle
      • Must now have correct racing arms
    • 80 to 100 yards (4 lengths of pool) of backstroke
      • Must now have correct racing arms
    • 40 to 50 yards (2 lengths of pool) of full breaststroke
      • Kick, arms, & timing must all be correct
    • 20 to 25 yards (1 length of pool) of full butterfly
      • Kick, arms, & timing must all be correct
  • Freestyle flip turn
  • Backstroke flip turn
  • Breaststroke open turn
