Our Lessons

Ready…Set…Swim…© is our method of teaching swimming and it sets us apart from the competition.  This method is unique to our program and is based on our extensive research and as well as decades of experience teaching children of all ages, levels, and abilities.

Our primary focus, when developing the program, was the emotional and physical development of children.  We have broken down the fundamentals of learning to swim into small achievable milestones.  This allows our students to be challenged individually, one step at a time, based on their own personal development, and the goals that we have set for each level.

To accompany our Ready…Set…Swim…© method, we have designed a badge achievement system that tracks and rewards our students’ individual progress.  Our students have the opportunity to earn different badges when they master a specific group of skills.  As children grow and develop they take on more challenges, achieve more badges, and advance to higher levels.  Our badge system will take your child from those first days of water acclimation all the way through mastering all 4 competitive strokes.

This Fall we will only offer Private and Semi-private lessons.
Since there are no group classes we are no longer placing children based on their skill or ability.  Your child’s lesson will be geared toward their individual needs.  The instructor will follow our Ready, Set, Swim curriculum to advance children through each achievement level.

Semi-Private Lessons
GENERAL DETAILS
  • Families have to find their own partner with a sibling or close family friend – Swim Tank will not provide the 2nd student
  • We are only allowing ONE adult into the building for each semi-private lesson
  • Class is 30 min in length and meets 1x per week
  • 2:1 Student to Teacher Ratio
  • Cost = $200 per student per month
  • No make-up passes will be offered to semi-private students unless BOTH students are absent from class on the same day and we receive 24 hours’ advance notice of cancellation
  • If BOTH students are absent one make-up pass per month can be earned but BOTH students must book their make-up class together (Please see make up policy for a more detailed explanation before registering)
FOR STUDENTS AGES 4 MONTHS – 35 MONTHS
  • Both children must be accompanied, in the water, by an adult 18 years of age or older
  • Families have to find their own partner with a sibling or closed family friend, Swim Tank will not provide the 2nd student
  • Only available at our Mamaroneck location
  • The Harrison facility can NOT accommodate any semi-private classes for this age group as the shallow end is not large enough to teach in while keeping the two adults socially distanced from the students in the next lane
FOR STUDENTS AGES 2 1/2 – 15 YEARS
  • No adult participation allowed
  • Student must turn 2 ½ within the month that they are registering for
  • Open to all skill levels
  • We do not recommend pairing a student who is Stingray to Shark level with another student who is not Otter level or higher (we can accommodate it, but the more advanced student will have limited or no access to swimming laps)
  • Only ONE adult is allowed to come to class each week so if you are booking with a friend/family you will have to decide weekly which adult from which family will bring BOTH children. We must limit the # of adults in the viewing and changing rooms for everyone’s safety
