If you ever have concerns about your child’s instructor, we encourage you to contact one of our aquatic directors immediately so they can address your concern.
Swim Tank is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender; therefore, we cannot accommodate gender-specific instructor requests, and families must be comfortable with their child being taught by instructors of any gender.
All Swim Tank instructors are highly trained professionals who complete an intensive training program that includes a minimum of 100 hours of classroom and in-water training before teaching independently, and they participate in ongoing evaluations and continuing education throughout the year.
While we strive to maintain consistency and keep students with the same instructor for about 2 months when possible, assignments may change from month to month based on enrollment, staffing, and the needs of all students in each time slot.
If an assigned instructor is absent, a substitute instructor will be provided; however, Swim Tank cannot guarantee a specific substitute instructor, including for makeup classes.
Our teaching philosophy emphasizes collaborative instruction. We believe students become stronger and more confident swimmers by learning from multiple instructors rather than developing a dependency on one teacher or teaching style. In line with this approach, Swim Tank may also conduct in-class mentoring sessions, during which swimmers may be taught by their assigned instructor alongside one of our instructor trainers.
Families will not be emailed if their instructor is changing. Instructor assignments for the upcoming month are typically available in the Parent Portal by the 14th. Occasionally, changes may occur after that date, and if so, families will receive an email notification.
