Policies
First Day Class Reminders
- For girls, we recommend one piece or tankini suit and we recommend avoiding bikinis
- For boys, swim trunks that fit snugly so they do not fall down while swimming work best
- Many of our students wear swim shirts in the pool however this is optional
- We do not allow full wet suits and ask that you get approval for any type of neoprene swim suit or partial wet suit as they can assist with flotation and sometimes interfere with the teaching process
- Please be sure to bring your own towel as we do not provide them
Please note that this policy will be strictly enforced since accidents cause pool closures and class cancellations. The swim diapers that we sell and recommend do not look or feel like a diaper. We recommend that parents refer to them as “swim pants” and NOT swim diapers. We even sell bathing suits for both boys and girls that have the “swim pants” built into the suits so that the child is unaware. It is crucial that we are proactive in the prevention of any fecal contamination of the pool and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation!
- Regular diapers are never allowed in the pool and can damage the filter system
- Pull ups and disposable swim diapers are also never allowed in the pool
- ALL children under the age of 4 must wear a tight fitting reusable swim diaper to prevent fecal accidents
- We do have reusable swim diapers available for sale at both facilities
- If you would like to purchase one on your own, we recommend the Iplay or Finis diapers
- All students 2 ½ and older with hair below their ears are required to wear a bathing cap
- Students are responsible to bring a swim cap to every class or they will not be allowed to participate
- Swim caps are available for purchase at both facilities for $12
- Goggles are not recommended for beginner swimmers but they are allowed once a child is adjusted to the water
- Intermittent practice, without goggles, is mandatory for all student to ensure they can react appropriately in an emergency situation
- We ask that if your child wears goggles, you purchase and bring your own goggles to class
- Goggles can be purchased at both facilities for $12
For general concerns about progress and badges we ask that you email us and we can send you an update or have a lesson manager call you if there is a concern. If there is an emergent concern, please go to the front desk and ask to speak to one of our managers. We ask that you never walk on deck during class to speak with the staff for safety reasons.
If your child expresses any anxiety or concerns about his/her class, please be sure to email us after his/her class. We will alert the lesson manager to contact you to discuss a plan.

Temporary Covid Policy: Our goal will be to assign child to one main instructor for all 8- week class sets. For weekly intensives because instructors do not work all 5 days they will likely be assigned 2 instructors over the course of the week. If you are enrolled in two 8-week class sets we will do our best to keep your child with the same instructor if they work both of those days. At any time if an instructor is absent a replacement will be assigned
Previous Policy: At Swim Tank we believe in team teaching so your child will have an average of 3 to 4 teachers each session (typically 10 weeks long) depending on how many times a week they come. For more information about our team teaching philosophy please see our FAQ. Swim Tank employs both male and female instructors and we do not accept teacher requests.
Temporary Covid Policy: All lessons will be private 1:1 unless sibling sets and then the ratio will be 2:1. Certain Infant/toddler will be 2:1 ratio however parents will be places 6 feet apart in the pool
Please be aware that your child’s class size can fluctuate depending on current enrollment and weekly attendance, BUT the class size will never exceed the ratios that were published when you registered for your class. Our standard max class sizes are listed below.
